Expertise:

Christy has a background in chemical engineering and works for the firm’s clients that are based in the mining services, mineral processing and the oil and gas industries.

Dr Grobbler has a PhD in microbiology and environmental engineering from the University of Queensland. After obtaining her doctorate Christy decided to enter the patent profession and worked at QUT Bluebox – the commercialisation arm of QUT (Queensland University of Technology).

Christy has also worked as a research officer on a number of pilot scale research projects at UQ, as well as an Education Officer for CSIRO Education. After gaining experience in the commercialisation space Christy entered the IP profession by joining IP Gateway. With her strong background in science and technology across a range of disciplines Christy is well suited to working on patent prosecution matters across a range of technologies.  Her work in technology transfer and commercialisation helps her understand the importance of IP protection and the role it plays in encouraging innovation.

As a trainee patent attorney, Christy works in our patent team with Wayne Slater and Alison McMillan in the field of patent preparation and prosecution.  Christy is currently studying for a Master of Intellectual Property at the University of Technology Sydney.
