Expertise
Before joining the IP profession, Tim spent ten years as a research scientist, undertaking Honours and a PhD in plant molecular biology, then working for The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). From his time as a researcher, Tim has published more than fifteen peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and is a named inventor himself on patents.
Tim’s primary expertise is in biotechnology, and he has assisted with drafting and prosecution of numerous biotechnology patents, including for large university and corporate clients, and biotech start-ups. However, during his career as an attorney, Tim has broadened his patent practice to other technology areas, and has also gained substantial experience in assisting with trade mark and design matters.
